The MT-Drive consists of two main components: a pressure bearing and a double-acting homokinetic joint. Both can be attached and removed independent of each other. The pressure bearing housing is produced of high-grade steel castings. The axial pressure, which is conferred by the screw, is collected in both directions by a two-way working pressure bearing.
The bearing also functions as the radian bearing for the shaft. Through the handles of the bearing housing the axial forces are passed on to the rubbers and deposited on the groundwork. The shaft is fixed with an outside
clamping bush. The advantages of such a
clamping bush are:
* Easy assembly
* Easy accessible
* Visible for control
If the shaft needs to be disassembled, twisting four bolts in the threaded holes will loosen the
clamping bush without damaging it.
A key way in the shaft is unnecessary. If the clutch needs to be replaced in an existing yacht the engine and the shaft do not need to be disassembled. The unit is of very short build, which is essential for many yachts. Our homokinetic clutch can bridge gaps both which are not aligned in height, width or length. The homokinetic clutch is assembled in the chamber of the pressure bearing housing without a cover.
All fasteners (DIN standard) are included. The type is indicated in accordance with the thickness of the shaft. Because of the over dimensioning of the bearing housing the MT 25 and MT 30 are suited to cope with the power of 120 hp. The MT 35, 40 and 45 are calculated for 300 hp and the MT 50, 55 and 60 will easily cope with 450 hp. The MT Drive will be on the market at an attractive price with a 15-year, or 2000 hours of use, warranty.
