Rotary Sorter
Rotary sorters are used in post-semiconductor testing processes. Featuring a rotary turret structure, they complete feeding, testing, sorting and discharging to classify chips by quality grade. This equipment is widely applied for testing and sorting discrete components, IC chips and LED chips.
The main technical challenges lie in high-speed multi-station synchronization and sorting accuracy. The turret transfers chips between stations at high speed, while the discharging mechanism must be actuated accurately according to test results to sort chips into designated bins.
MT’s high-performance motion controller realizes synchronous operation of the turret, test stations and discharging units. Advanced high-response servo algorithms ensure smooth start and stop of the turret and avoid die displacement during high-speed transfer. A closed-loop system links test data with sorting actions: it reads real-time test results and controls the discharging mechanism to guarantee precise sorting. Functions including bin management and material shortage alarm ensure continuous and stable operation.
