Note for servo drive absolute encoder batteries: Only 3.6V lithium batteries are acceptable.
The following types of batteries are not suitable for use:
A. Standard AA batteries: Incorrect voltage and insufficient capacity.
B. Rechargeable batteries: Excessive leakage current will cause operational issues.
Pulse control adopts half-duplex communication. Signals can only be transmitted in one direction at a time. It solely sends command signals without receiving real-time feedback from the servo drive. Its position loop runs intermittently instead of continuously. This works like a two-way radio — you cannot receive messages while transmitting.
Bus control features full-duplex communication, enabling simultaneous signal sending and receiving. Via high-speed bus communication, real-time feedback data from the servo can be acquired continuously for positioning based on absolute targets. It is comparable to 5G video calling, supporting large data transmission and real-time two-way interaction throughout operation.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot servo drive over-current alarms:
Verify that the correct motor code is configured according to the official motor nameplate label.
Check wiring connections to ensure the encoder cable for Axis 1 is not connected to the Axis 2 encoder port. Crossed encoder cables and power cables will trigger an overload alarm when the servo is enabled and in a static state.
Measure the resistance of the motor U, V, and W coils and check for ground short circuits. The resistance deviation among the three phases should not exceed 20% under normal working conditions.
Check for current overshoot caused by frequent high-speed start and stop operations. Monitor whether the torque feedback waveform from the host controller exceeds 3 times the rated torque, or check the parameters d0-36 and d0-86 via the drive keypad (values should not exceed 3000).
Confirm the brake resistor is properly installed. Monitor the DC bus voltage parameters: d0-16 (real-time DC bus voltage), d0-17 (minimum DC bus voltage), and d0-18 (maximum DC bus voltage). A 20Ω brake resistor is required if the d0-18 value reaches 365V.
If the alarm occurs after servo enable: Power off the device, disconnect the motor power cable, then power on and enable the servo again without any operation. If the alarm disappears, inspect the power cable for sheath damage or poor contact. If the alarm persists, restore the drive to factory settings and restart the device. Return the drive for professional inspection and analysis if the alarm still occurs.
If the alarm occurs immediately after power-on: Power off the device, disconnect the power cable, and restart the device. If the alarm clears, check the power cable for damage or poor contact. If the alarm persists, perform a factory reset and restart the drive. Return the drive for testing and maintenance if the fault remains unresolved.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot servo drive overload alarms:

Confirm the power cable phase sequence is correctly wired.
Check wiring connections to ensure the encoder cable for Axis 1 is not connected to the Axis 2 encoder port. Crossed encoder cables and power cables will trigger an overload alarm when the servo is enabled and in a static state.
Check whether the motor brake releases properly. Inspect the external 24V switching power supply and wiring. If the wiring is normal but the brake fails to release after servo enable, measure the voltage between B+ and B- with a multimeter: 24V under servo enabled status indicates a faulty motor that requires replacement; 24V under servo disabled status means the brake is permanently open, requiring drive replacement.
Check for overloaded operating conditions via the load rate parameter d0-09. If the static torque feedback exceeds 100%, the motor cannot carry the load. Replace with a higher-torque motor or a reducer with a larger gear ratio.
Check and calibrate the motor zero point to ensure normal operation.
If the motor brake works normally, release the motor torque under safe conditions: set parameter No.4 to 1, then set parameter No.6 and No.7 to 0 to free the motor torque. Manually push the motor shaft; if the shaft cannot be moved, there is mechanical jamming or motor stalling.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot servo drive 3-phase current abnormality alarms:
Verify that the correct motor code is configured according to the official motor nameplate label.
Check whether the power cable phase sequence is incorrectly connected.
Confirm the motor power cables are fully connected. This alarm will not appear when the servo is statically enabled with disconnected power cables, and will only be triggered during motor operation.
Check for loose or disconnected power cable terminals. Re-plug and fasten all power cable connectors, and test the continuity of U, V and W terminals with a multimeter.
Check wiring connections to ensure the encoder cable for Axis 1 is not connected to the Axis 2 encoder port. Crossed encoder cables and power cables will trigger an overload alarm when the servo is enabled and in a static state.
Perform a swapping test using another motor of the same power rating by exchanging power cables and encoder cables. If the alarm follows the cables and motor, inspect and replace the faulty cables or motor. If the alarm follows the drive, restore the drive to factory settings and power cycle the device. After resetting, only configure basic parameters including motor code (P0-02), encoder type (P0-09) and communication cycle (P0-50). If no alarm occurs, import the remaining parameters (P0-20, P0-21, P0-22, P0-23, P0-28, P0-41, P0-51~P0-54, P1-00, P1-01). Replace the drive if the alarm persists.
Check whether the motor operating speed exceeds the maximum rated speed. The maximum speed is defined by parameter No.5, and the real-time motor speed can be monitored via d0-00.
Check for DC bus voltage abnormalities by monitoring real-time voltage (d0-16), minimum voltage (d0-17) and maximum voltage (d0-18).
Check whether the servo parameters are excessively configured, including speed loop gain, notch filter frequency and notch filter gain.
Check and calibrate the motor zero point to ensure normal operation.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot servo drive DC bus under-voltage alarms:
Monitor the bus voltage values of each drive module and power module: drive module real-time bus voltage (d0-16), drive module minimum bus voltage (d0-17), power module real-time bus voltage (d1-00), and power module minimum bus voltage (d1-03).
Calculate the AC input voltage by dividing the d0-16 and d0-17 bus voltage values by 1.414. The standard input voltage range is 187V ~ 242V. Use a multimeter to measure the AC voltage between L1 and L2. If the voltage is lower than 195V or unstable, install a transformer or voltage stabilizer for regulation.
