Follow the steps below to troubleshoot servo drive DC bus over-voltage alarms:
Monitor the bus voltage values of each drive module and power module: drive module real-time bus voltage (d0-16), drive module maximum bus voltage (d0-18), power module real-time bus voltage (d1-00), and power module maximum bus voltage (d1-04).
Calculate the AC input voltage by dividing the d0-16 and d0-18 bus voltage values by 1.414. The standard input voltage range is 187V ~ 242V. An over-voltage alarm will trigger when the DC bus voltage exceeds 395V. Use a multimeter to test the AC voltage between L1 and L2. Install a transformer or voltage stabilizer if the input voltage is higher than 240V.
Check whether the brake resistor is installed and verify its specification. A 20Ω brake resistor is the recommended standard configuration.
If the AC input voltage is normal but the DC bus voltage exceeds 400V, check for reversed 0V and 5V wiring on the encoder cable, which is a common cause of abnormal over-voltage.
