MT Upgrades to Second-Gen M800 Multi-Axis Modular EtherCAT Bus Servo Drive
Building on the technical reserves and real-world application experience of the first-generation M620 multi-axis modular servo series, MT has completed technological iteration and architecture optimization, officially launching the second-generation M800 Series 220V multi-axis modular EtherCAT bus servo drives. As an upgraded successor product, the M800 targets upgraded multi-axis application scenarios with comprehensive enhancements in dimensional footprint, modular expandability, bus performance, installation & commissioning, and operational safety & stability. It achieves a critical leap from isolated performance improvements to system-level optimization for multi-axis setups, carrying strategic significance as a bridge between past innovations and future product development.

The M800 retains and upgrades the combined architecture of power supply modules plus single/dual-axis modules. Leveraging the core strengths of high-speed EtherCAT bus, it precisely addresses the application limitations of the first-gen model, delivering a smaller footprint, greater expandability, higher precision and faster delivery efficiency. It fully meets the lightweight, integrated and high-efficiency demands of multi-axis automated equipment.
Below are the core upgrades of the M800 compared with the first-generation M620:
1. Ultra-Compact Design with Streamlined Structure for Higher Space Utilization
The M800 features optimized overall structure and hardware materials, adopting a common DC bus architecture and patented connection technology to eliminate redundant power structures found in traditional multi-axis systems. A 10-axis 750W multi-axis system saves 55%–60% installation space versus the first-gen model.
Its centralized power supply design cuts down power cables, control wires and external braking resistors, reducing overall wiring and installation workload by 50%. The equipment boasts a neater structure for easier installation and maintenance.
2. Flexible Modular Expansion with Full Power & Axis Coverage
The upgraded modular assembly system allows free custom combinations on demand, supporting 1 to 10 axes in any configuration with power coverage ranging from 50W to 4.5kW.
It offers stronger expandability and broader compatibility than the previous generation, catering to customized matching requirements for multi-axis machinery of all specifications and flexibly adapting to multi-axis synchronization scenarios across diverse industries.
3. High-Speed EtherCAT Bus for Dramatically Improved Multi-Axis Synchronization
Equipped with an optimized high-speed EtherCAT bus, the drive achieves a minimum communication cycle down to 250μs and distributed clock synchronization accuracy below 1μs.
Paired with high-bandwidth control of a 3.2kHz speed loop and 16kHz current loop, it delivers smooth multi-axis motion, stable response and precise positioning.
It boasts outstanding compatibility for seamless connection with mainstream masters including Beckhoff, CodeSYS, Omron, Keyence, Trio and LNC. A single Ethernet cable enables complete integrated multi-axis motion control.
4. Integrated Safety Protection for Enhanced Operational Stability
Built-in brake control and dynamic braking functions enable automatic protection during power outages, abnormal operating conditions and brake failures to avoid safety hazards during equipment operation.
It supports real-time multi-axis status interaction and configurable interlock protection logic, significantly boosting safety redundancy and continuous operational stability for complex multi-axis machinery.
5. Simplified Commissioning & Configuration for Much Faster Delivery
Fully open SDO interfaces support real-time monitoring and online adjustment of multi-axis parameters.
Each unit comes with exclusive identity information and factory-optimized parameters preloaded; rapid configuration and production startup can be completed via only a 4-digit code, drastically shortening commissioning cycles.
Thanks to the quick-mount modular design, assembly, modification and maintenance complexity is greatly reduced, effectively accelerating complete machine delivery timelines.
The launch of the M800 marks MT’s transition from the initial technical breakthrough of its first-gen multi-axis servo to a phase of systematic and mature optimization. With stronger modular integration, superior EtherCAT bus performance and lower application barriers, the M800 delivers highly adaptable, cost-effective and high-efficiency drive solutions for multi-axis automated equipment, helping manufacturing facilities improve product quality, cut costs and boost productivity.
